Leicester City have identified Manchester City’s Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho as one of their main transfer target.s
According to Sky Sports, manager Craig Shakespeare has prioritised the signing of a striker in the European summer.
Iheanacho is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2021, but a lack of playing time in the second half of the 2016/17 season has sparked rumours of a transfer.
West Ham United have submitted a bid of £20-million for the 20-year-old Super Eagles attacker, but City have yet to decide on the offer.
Leicester, who already have Nigerians Wilfred Nidid and Ahmed Musa on their books, will have to better the Hammers’ offer or convince Iheanacho that they represent a better environment for him to thrive.
Iheanacho has been on City’s books since joining their academy in early 2014 and he made his first-team debut in August of the following year.
